GROCERY STORES 

ELLSWORTH:

Approximately 20 min before you reach Mount Desert Island, you will pass through Ellsworth where there are two large grocery stores. Both are on the right side of the road in the strip malls. 

Hannaford - This is where Jen prefers to shop.

Shaw's - Another large supermarket. 

MOUNT DESERT ISLAND:

Hannaford - This is the main grocery store on the island.

Southwest Food Mart - Only good if you are in need of a last min item. Good meat department but poor quality produce.

SPECIALTY STORES 

A+B Naturals Health Food Store - Great health food store with local veggies, dairy, meat and other items.

Sawyers Market - Wonderful specialty, local and gourmet store. Near Fern Way, Beechwood.

Town Hill Market - Delicious sandwiches made to order, organic foods, alcohol. Cash only!

John Edwards - Great health food with fantastic wine cellar.

Peekytoe Provisions - Serving local foods, amazingly fresh sea food, and Maine specialty items.

Bar Harbor Farmers Market: Sunday 9-12

Eden Farmers Market: Friday 3-6
